What is Zumba®?

Zumba® Fitness is the only Latin-inspired dance fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness party" that is downright addicitive. Since its inception in 2001, the Zumba® program has grown to become the world's largest and most successful dance fitness program with more than 12 million people of all shapes, sizes and ages taking weekly Zumba® classes in over 110,000 locations across more than 125 countries.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for exercise that allows freedom of movement. Most importantly, shoes should be comfortable with plenty of cushion and lateral support.  We recommend a cross training, aerobic type shoe, preferably with a "circle" pivot design on the sole.  Running shoes or cross trainers have too much tread to allow for lateral movement.  Bare feet or sock-feet for class are not allowed due to lack of support and safety concerns

What should I bring?

A towel, water and a sense of FUN!

How many calories are burned in a one hour class?

The number of calories will vary according to individual effort, body type and other factors, but generally will average between 700-1000 calories!

Do I need prior dance experience?

No! Don't worry, you don't have to be a professional dancer. The steps are very easy to follow and once you see the basic moves for each rhythm, which repeat often, you'll catch on. When in doubt, just shake it. The routines are designed so you can get a good workout. You simply need a towel, water and a desire to have fun while exercising your way to good health. It is important to check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise program.

All moves can be modified for your safety.  If you have not exercised in a long time, please see your doctor to obtain clearance to start classes.  The classes can be intense, so go at your own pace and listen to your body! Take a break when you need one!  You don't have to keep up with everyone else! Don't overdo it, we want you to have fun and come back!

Are classes only for women?

No! Men AND women are welcome!

Am I too young, too old to take dance/Zumba® classes?

Our classes are for everyone - all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities may join!

What is the age requirement?

All participants must be 13 and up. All must sign waiver before attending class.

What if I'm shy?

Our instructors & other students will make you feel very comfortable. We have dimly lit classes to set the mood.  We have so much fun, we laugh, we joke, we play and have an amazing time.  Sexy doesn't have to be serious, it just has to be you letting go and enjoying all of who you are.  We'll teach you how to let your inner sex kitten come out. Roarrrrrr!

What can I expect when I come to class?

You’ll be welcomed at the front desk and asked to sign a waiver. If you are a drop in student – we will ask you to submit payment in the form of a cash or check. After class be sure to stop at the front desk to collect your “Welcome” gift.

How much does it cost?

The Drop in Rate is $10 per class – Class cards are $60 or $420 for 12-month contract.
